July 14, 2011 update. Two weeks away boys!  I hope everyone is out grinding on their games like I have been.  Baugh and I played in the annual Huntington Beach Beer Olympics last weekend in preparation for the Khaki.  There wasn't any golf involved, although we were both grinding on our games, I promise you.  My liver will be ready...

A few updates for everyone and a request...

First, we have the dinners set up for Thursday and Saturday night.  Thursday nights Captain's dinner will be held in the Wolf Room, whatever that is.  I asked for the Ferret Room...it was already reserved.  They are setting us up with a buffet dinner with all kinds of choices for food.  I went with the deluxe package to make sure there was something for everybody, plus it was only $10 more than the stripped down version.  Dinner time 8:30pm.  Saturday nights dinner is in the private wine room at the Corn Maiden restaurant on the premises.  It's supposed to be a good spot with tasty treats.  They serve up a Fogo de Ciao type dinner I've been told where they cut off slabs of meat on your plate.  Costs for the two dinners, which includes food, taxes, tips, and room and bar setups it $200 per man.  Actually, it is $196 per man but, I'll put the other $4 per man together and buy Johnny a new pair of pink pants.  You will be responsible for your own booze at both events, although they will have a private bar set up for us.

I've also set up four tee times for Thursday afternoon at Twin Warriors.  We have the 2:20, 2:30, 2:40, and 2:50 times.  This should give all of us getting in on Thursday time to make it to the hotel and check in.  We should have plenty of time to play and head to dinner.  That is only 16 players, although we can add a time if we have more.  I figured some people might be arriving earlier and may play earlier...not sure.  If everyone could let me know their plans for Thursday golf, I'll make sure there's room for everybody.  I figured we'd set up a little game and get some money changing hands...

Also, everybody needs to send me their July 1st handicap index.  Some of you are easy to find....those in the GHIN system.  Some of you have your handicaps set up on "Mike's Handicaps, Flowers, and Wedding Gifts", and they are hard to access.  I trust everyone to get me your index...ASAP, please.

So, handicap and whether you are in on Thursday for golf....just let me know.

Lastly, we are down a man as of today.  We've added a veteran member from past Khaki's in Doug Heathcott, although we are still trying to fill another spot.  We continue to talk to people, although I want to let everyone knwo that we are open to new members.  If anyone has somebody they'd like to get in this year, drop us a line...see you
